Hello and a challenge :)

Hello again, and a Happy May to everyone :)
Well I am hoping that Summer is on its way as I am tired of the damp, murky weather and really need some sunshine.  I have spent most of April in bed with a nasty throat and chest infection which has really taken some getting over, but the worst thing is not being able to make things and craft - that makes me really crabby so my poor husband has had to put up with me griping and moaning for weeks that I couldn't do what I wanted to do!
However, I do feel as if I am on the mend now and as it is the start of May it is time for a new challenge over at the Ladybug Crafts challenge blog.  This month it is;
Use your favourite embellishments.

I have done a little blackboard this month and used paper flowers and rosettes which are my favourite thing of the moment - although my favourites do tend to change from minute to minute!

I painted the frame with acrylic paint, then covered with some patterned paper and stamped some alphas and numerals over the top.  I then used stencils to slap on some texture paste and added a tiny bit of glitter on top to give a little sparkle.I added lace around the frame inner and some beaded trim along the bottom of the chalk ledge.  I added some paper flowers that I'd made and some rosettes and also a beaded flower that I'd had left over from the beaded wedding bouquet I made.  I made a couple of little butterflies with art parts moldable plastic and added a vintage key to one and a little bottle full of gilding flake to the other.  I tied on the twine handle but added a piece and made a little wound cup to hold a piece of chalk.  Finally I tucked a couple of metal leaves behind the flowers.

I hope you like my little blackboard which I think would look lovely in a little country kitchen to let the kids know what's for tea :)
It is available in my Etsy shop HERE .
