Hi everyone ;)
I hope you're all enjoying the beautiful sunshine we've been having - I always find that the sunshine makes you feel better, it certainly makes me feel more like smiling even when I'm feeling under the weather :)
Anyway, I am here with my project for the July Ladybug Crafts challenge blog, which this month is;
Summer Flowers.
This month I've done an altered project instead of a card;
This started out as a plain MDF wood heart.
I covered it with black gesso and let it dry.
I took some kroma crackle and coloured it with acrylic paint and then spread it over the front side of the heart and put it aside to dry (which took 2 days, as I think I put too much on!) When it was dry I added 'slap it on' to seal it.
Using Graphic 45 papers (I think it's called Bohemian bazaar?) I made flowers using Crafter's Companion Die'sire quilling flowers.
I then sprayed them with glitter spray varnish.
I added a glass pearl to the centre of each one.
I stamped my sentiment on black card and embossed with gold detail powder. I cut it so that the words were all individual. I added some gilding wax to the edges and I also sprayed this with varnish.
I added gold metallic acrylic paint to the edge of the heart before sticking all the flowers and the sentiment on. I stuck 2 hatpins behind the flowers and added a bow and dazzler to the top.
The back of the heart was just black so I sponged more metallic gold acrylic paint over the back. I also put 'slap it on' over the back too so that it is glossy liken the rest.
I love the bright colours of this and I am addicted to paper flowers, especially the quilling ones as they look so effective!
This is on my Etsy store :)
I hope you like it too
