Some Christmas Create a Cards

Morning all :)

I am back today to share a couple of samples I have done using the Crafter's Companion Christmas Create a Card dies.

This card uses the 5 x 5 Enchanted Reindeer and the Happy Holidays 5 x 2 sentiment die.  I have used kraft card with cream and also used one of the embossing folders from the Nordic range (Reindeer Forest)

This is an easel card using the Deck the Halls die.  I cut it out once in dark blue and then again in some white card that I had covered with Stick It.  I cut the baubles out and then covered them with glitter and layered them on the blue piece.  I also did a glittery frame.  On the base of the easel, although you can't really see it here, I used the die to emboss only and then used a Sentimentals stamp to make a stopper.

This is a box decorated with the Timeless Wreath die on cream card and stencilled through with some red ink. On the top of the box I used the smaller Merry Christmas sentiment die.  This is a good sized box that would make any gift you were giving just that little bit more special.

I have made lots of Christmas cards/projects for samples this year but I really need to make a start on my own, otherwise it'll be the usual mad rush to try and finish them in time :)

Back soon

September is here :)

Hi everyone in blogland :)
Well ikt's hard to believe that September is here and as I write this it seems that Autumn is already making an appearance as it's pouring with rain!  However, that doesn't matter as I have lots and lots to do in my craftroom.

I have been very busy over the past few weeks and am very happy to say that I am now an accredited demonstrator for Crafter's Companion, so I am looking forward to getting to demo lots of their fab products as soon as they need me.

I am going to share a few samples today that I have made for the CC shows on Hochanda recently.
These are from the Die'sire everyday fancy edge'ables large format range.  These dies are 7.5 inches across so great for making those larger statement cards and projects

This is using the beautiful Papillon on Centura Pearl card stock to make a triple step card.  I love plain white with just a hint of colour - this time I used a peachy colour and added one of the only words dies

This uses Amour and some of Sara's Together Forever range papers to make a cream and gold card that would make a lovely wedding card.  To make this easel card I cut the edge'able twice.  Once at the top of the front piece and then on another piece of card to be used as the stopper.

Finally I have used the Parisian to do a diorama type card using it to cut the side pieces and the bottom of the aperture too.

I hope you love these dies as much as I do as there is so much you can do with them

New Signature range release by Sara Davies, tonight.

Hi all, I am here to share my samples with you that I have made for the new Signature range by Sara from Crafter's Companion.
This range is called Traditional Christmas and although it seems too early to be talking about Christmas, I know loads of crafters have already started on their Christmas makes.
This is a fab range with lots of yummy dies and a couple of embossing folders, plus a fab 6 x 6 paper pad and some beautiful foiled papers.

So here are my samples;

This festive greeting die is so useful and I love it layered to make the drop shadow effect.

These use the Christmas Bells panel die and I love it in both colourways.

The Entwined Holly panel is beautiful and I have use the Holly Corner embossing folder to emboss the edges.

This is the Festive Tree folder but look at the fab foiled backing papers - so yummy :)

The Guardian Angel die is lovely and although I am not much of a mirror card girl, the Luxury Mirror card that is available in the set cuts brilliantly and looks amazing.  The white card at the back is from the foiled card pack and you can just see the shine on it.

I adore the Away in a Manger die set which has lots of little dies so you can make up your scenes.

This range is great fun to work with and I have loved playing with the dies and papers.
The range launches tonight on HOCHANDA at 8pm so don't forget to tune in :)

I hope you love the new Signature range as much as I do :)

12 months already!

Back after a break :)

Hi all - I am back after a rather lengthy break of 12 months due to health problems, thinking about life and changing things about.  As you can see my blog has changed to Sam Healey Designs along with my lovely new hummingbird logo.

I am making lots of things and have an Etsy store still and a new website at Sam Healey Designs :)
I have lots of things I want to do and I will share as things commence or change.

I am still on the Die'sire design team for Crafter's Companion and so today I thought I would share a couple of the samples I have made for recent launches

These were from the hobby Edge'ables that launched last week on Hochanda - they are really different and great fun to work with :)

There was also a fab Downton Abbey launch with two new create a card dies;

These are fabulous, I love them both but I especially love the Downton Vintage Castle - just beautiful and loads you can do with it.  These were launched on Hochanda but they are available from the  Crafter's Companion website too.

Well, I shall away as I have more samples to make and lots of other things to do too but I shall be back soon.

July

Morning all (or afternoon).
Well July is upon us and I am feeling a bit odd because I am 40 at the end of the month.  Being 40 doesn't bother me too much other than the fact that there is lots I want to do and my health prevents me from doing it.  Every year for the last couple I've said 'this is going to be the year I make it happen' but then things happen and the next year rolls around.  I really have got ambitions that I would love to come to fruition by the time I'm 41 but I just won't say anything too loudly in case the fates are listening - they are liable to throw another obstacle in front of me if they get wind of my plans LOL.
Anyway, enough of my whinging and back to more important things, such as crafting.

It is the first of the month so there is a new challenge up at Ladybug Crafts , which this month is:

Special Birthdays
I haven't made anything specific as I have been busy with some design team work, but thought I would share a couple of older projects featuring some of the Crafter's Companion embossing folders, create a card dies and quilling flower dies.
There is so much you can do to make so many different looks.

I just love this large milk carton style box and I don't know if it's the sunshine, but I am loving bright colours right now, especially orange :)

This is a more subtly coloured piece with a cupcake theme going on - I still love my Crafter's Companion embossing boards which is where I got the large cupcake in the centre from.  Really easy to emboss and then cut out - so may dies around now, but I still love a bit of cutting out.

This is one of the A6 Create a Card dies, Shining Star.  So simple and quick to do - fab if you've forgotten a birthday and you need something quick.

This is another Create a Card A6 die - Butterflies this time, but layered on some pretty paper and the leaf vein textures folder provides the backing.  The bow is a die too from Crafter's Companion but from their first Christmas range - still useful :)

I hope you like these cards and that you will pop over to the challenge blog and join in :)

Ladybug challenge - do it with dies :)

Good morning (or afternoon, or evening :) )
I'm back with my card for the Ladybug Crafts challenge for June.

This month the theme is to use your dies.  I love my dies and I am lucky enough to be on the Crafter's Companion Die'sire design team so I thought I'd share a card I made using their Spring dies.

This uses the beautiful window die, the pennant bunting and the wildflower trio.  I used the dry stone wall embossing folder on kraft card for the background.  I just love teal, brown and cream as a colour combination and I was pretty happy with this card :)

Don't forget to pop along and join in the challenge
