Craft Us Crazy Christmas challenge

Our challenge theme we have for you is CHRISTMAS/NEW YEAR and/or ALTERED/3D PROJECT!!

We don't have a sponsor this challenge, so we'll have a TOP 5 at the end of this challenge. Who knows, Santa might even bring a little goodie for a random winner :)

Everyone here at Craft Us Crazy Challenges, wishes all our followers and supporters a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!! May you find all your crafty wishes under the tree Christmas morning, and the best of health and family going into the New Year!!!

Thanks for making 2012 so special!! We'll see you in 2013!!

I have done a Christmas card (I wanted to do a 3D project or something altered but I was so behind with my Christmas cards that I had to incorporate that into my DT project LOL).
Anyway I used the fab Mulberry Wood Christmas stamps from Crafter's Companion

I coloured the image with Copic markers and added some snow with a white pen and then some glitter too.  I think the papers are Raspberry Road matted onto Core'dinations and a Kraft card base.  I glitter embossed the sentiment onto a little bauble.  I added some gems and some velvet ribbon to finish.  I did the inside of  the card to match.  I don't know if it shows in the photo but the small piece of beige/green card at the bottom was fed through my paper ribbler which I found under the mountain of stuff in my craft room, and I just had to play with it LOL

Christmas card

Well only another week and a bit until Christmas and I still have Christmas cards to make!!  Not sure they'll all get done now LOL.  However, I thought I would share one I have made with you here;

I have used the Mulberry wood range from Crafter's Companion and coloured in with Copic markers.  I used the Christmas Remembered papers from Raspberry Road, inked the edges and matted onto Coredinations and a Kraft card base - I love this rustic type look teamed with traditional Christmas colours.  I added pins, gems and some crinkle edge ribbon.  Fairly simple but quite cute I think ;o)

Don't forget that you could win a lovely stamp plate by Inky Doodles if you just leave a comment HERE - they'll make a nice little Christmas present to yourself LOL.  (If you comment on this post too I'll add you nito the pot for the chance to win, so if you comment on both you have double the chance ;o))

Finally I haven't blogged as much as I would have liked this year due to health reasons mainly - BUT I am going to make my New Year's Resolution to blog regularly and maybe even try to do a blog a day so some nagging may be necessary LOL.  I will be back with a few more Christmas cards later

Merry Christmas ;o)

Hello everyone - has everyone got their Christmas shopping done?  I have done practically all of mine - all over the internet as I just don't feel well enough to be trawling around town!  Anyway, I don't have a card to share at the moment (I have a few to download from the camera but time just wizzes by and I keep getting distracted by things that need doing!), however, I thought I would do a little giveaway to say Merry Christmas.  I have a beautiful stamp sheet by Inky Doodles, which are the best quality polymer.  This set is called Birdie Heart;

All you need to do to have a chance to win this set is to leave a comment after this post.  I will pull a winner next weekend so you will have this as a little Christmas gift ;o)

There is also a chance to win another stamp over on my store blog HERE so go and leave a comment there too ;o)
I will be back soon with a card but don't forget to comment ;o)

Craft US Crazy - Challenge 32

Hello everyone, well it is time for the Craft Us Crazy challenge

It seems ages since I have done one as I missed the last one due to being unwell - anyway I'm feeling a little better now so am glad to back crafting again ;o)

So, this fortnights challenge is;
Christmas/Winter and/or Favourite embellishment.

You can enter any crafty project on this theme but please make sure to mention what your favourite embellishment is if that is the challenge you are following!
Our sponsor this week is The Stamp Fairy

Stamp Fairy

I have used a fab digi from The Stamp Fairy called George and Friends 2 - he is soo cute ;o)

This is a really simple card as I didn't want to cover up the lovely background paper which is from the Winter Wonderland range by Raspberry Road.  This was harder than it sounds as I love embellishments and lots of layers so it took a lot of restraint LOL.  The snowman and his friend are coloured with Spectrum Noir alcohol markers and I added a dot of Glossy accents to his buttons and eyes.  On the snow at the bottom I added some stickles crystal glitter glue and then layered some white webbing over the top to add a little texture (ok I had to get one layer in somewhere didn't I ??)  The sentiment I printed out from Craft Artist by Serif using one of their digikit alphasand then added some more stickles to that too.  I layered it onto a Kraft card then finally added some punched glittery snowflakes.  Finally I added my favourite embellishment of the moment which is some beautiful crinkle edged ribbon.
I hope you like George and his friend ;o)
So, get into the festive spirit and join in our challenge ;o)

I'm late, I'm late - Craft US Crazy challenge!!

It's time for the Craft Us Crazy challenge again - I am running late as I have another migraine ;o(  (They are really starting to get me down now!!)  Anyway, onto the challenge;

Our challenge theme we have for you is to use your FAVORITE COLOR and/or HOLIDAY THEME!! So come and color us inspired or let us celebrate your holiday with you!!! And don't forget to check out the awesome prizes being offered by our sponsor this week ...
We have the ever so talented....
owned by the lovely and sweet Krista Smith
and please check out the Saturated Canary Challenge Blog
Krista is offering TWO DIGI STAMPS to one of our winners!!!!!

So, I have used a beautiful Saturated Canary image along with my favourite colours of the moment, teal blue and brown ;o)

So, the image is Party Hardy and is coloured with Spectrum Noir markers (not my best I am afraid but my vision is dead wonky due to these darn headaches!).  I used papers from First Edition's Isabelle range.  I layered with Kraft cardstock and brown Core'dinations.  The swirly frame is a Spellbinders die and the bunting is from an Anna Griffin stamp along with the sentiment, heat embossed with 'pepper' powder.  I made some little flowers using Tonic petal pairs paper punches and added mica flakes to the centres.  I finished with a couple of little stick pins.  I hope you like it - even though it is late ;o)

Toread card

Hello everyone - well where the heck did October go?  Happy Halloween by the way - I have been pumpkin carving this afternoon - they aren't great but they look ok ;o)
Anyway, I haven't entered any challenges for ages and I saw it was the last day for the Crafter's Companion monthly challenge and thought I would enter a little card I made using their Toread range.
I am usually a stamper but I had the decoupage too for this and I really have to start to try to use up some of my piles of stash LOL.  So here we go;

I used a Kraft card base and stamped a flourish in Walnut stain and heat embossed with clear powder.  I used a Sheena embossing folder for the ivy leaves with core'dinations card and then sanded it back and inked the veins with more walnut stain before cutting them out.  I used some papers from the Toread CD for the matting and layering along with some more kraft card.  I'm not sure how well it shows up but on the lower piece of paper I used a Darice embossing folder inked with Versamark to emboss some tulips.  I added some pearlescent powder and heat embossed - it has a lovely pastel green sheen to the tulips.  I added my little decoupaged Toread nymph along with a bow and another ivy leaf and a sentiment heat embossed with a darker green pearlescent powder.  I then went over the ivy veins with some glossy accents.  I finished by doing the inside of the card to match ;o)  Not much to this card but kinda cute.

Craft Us Crazy challenge 29...

Use the colour black and/or party theme.

Our sponsor this week is Kimberly Greenlee who is offering this great prize ;

from Stampin' Up.  It  includes the Party This Way Bundle;

Stampin’ Up Party This Way Clear Stamp Set – Retired
Stampin’ Up Petite Pennants Builder Punch Retail 16.95
I just love that bunting punch ;o)

So I have done a card this week, which has been tough so my mojo is on vacation at present!!, so I hope you will forgive me if not my usual stuff ;o)  ;

The stamp is Tilda with her Kookaburra by Magnolia - I just fell in love with this image when I saw it - I think it's the Kookaburra that sold it to me ;o))  I coloured her with Black soot distress ink and just picked out a little colour in her hairband, ner buttons and the bird.  I used Melissa Frances' 5th Avenue papers along with some Bazzill too.  I distressed all the edges and inked with peacock feathers and black soot inks.  The Celebrate sentiment is from Anna Griffin, which I stamped in peacock feathers and heat embossed.  I added some vintage ribbon and a dazzle heart to finish along with a couple of pearls.  I did the inside to match.  This was the second card I did for this challenge - I did one and just hated it - perhaps I'll pluck up the courage and post it anyway LOL.

Please join us at Craft Us Crazy this week - you can do any crafty project you fancy and there is a great prize on offer ;o)  I hope to see you there.

Chickens!!!

Hello all - I don't have a card today or anything paper related actually but I thought you might like to see something I have made for an order - Christmas chickens LOL!!!
I did a craft fair a few weeks ago and had a chicken I had made and somebody asked if I could do a Christmas version for his two daughters so here is the result;

They wanted Christmas dungarees and their names on the front - I'm quite pleased with how they've turned out, I just hope they will like them too ;o)

Craft Us Crazy - challenge 28, Children and/or Fall

Well it's the Craft Us Crazy challenge time again ;o)

The challenge for this fortnight is;
Children and/or fall

Our sponsor this week is
The Stamp Fairy

The winner will receive a $10 gift certificate to spend online.
I have used the digistamp Molly Fall to do a card with an Autumnal feel to it ;o)

I chose papers from the Desert Bloom pad by First Edition and selected my colours for the image from there.  I used Spectrum Noir pens to colour her in - I think orange and green is one of my favourite colour combinations.  I distressed the edges of the paper and the nestie for the image with distress inks in wild honey and peeled paint.  I did a ribbon ruffle at the base of the card with some chocolate brown silky crush ribbon.  I cut some leaves out of core'dinations card with Spellbinders dies, and inked through them with wild honey, peeled paint and walnut stain.  I added a rub-on that says Autumn, from Kaiserkraft and then did the inside of the card to match.  I love this little girl, she's really cute ;o)  I hope you like her too .

Friendship

I'm back - 2 posts in 2 days - WOW lol!!
I thought I'd share a SWALK image today.  It's about friendship - I don't really have many friends so I know how important friendship can be ;o)  So here we go;

I used a kraft card as a base and matted with Dovecraft papers.  I just love the kraft look and think that these pink and teal colours go perfectly with it.  I distressed the edges of the paper with walnut stain distress ink.  I coloured the stamped image with Copics.  I made a little rosette and added a large brad I've had in my stash for ages.  I heat embossed the sentiment directly onto the papers - it looks a little smudged in the photos but it's a lot clearer in real life ;o))  I did some faux stitching around the edge with a Sakura pen - one of those that leaves a silver tint over the colour.  I did the inside to match (I couldn't get a decent picture of that though as it is a tent card ;o)
A cute card for a good friend !
